Traffic Detoured in Downtown Springfield for Olympic Race Walk Trials Saturday

City of Springfield

On Saturday, the Olympic Race Walk Trials will be held in downtown Springfield.

Traffic control and detours around the racecourse will be in effect.

The racecourse will be on Main Street between Pioneer Parkway East and 5th Street, and on 5th Street between Main Street and C Street.

These streets will be closed to traffic and parking from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m. “NO PARKING” signs will be posted, and vehicles in these areas may be towed.

Parking enforcement in areas where parking is permitted will be suspended, to accommodate event goers.

Traffic will be detoured onto 14th Street, to E Street, to Pioneer Parkway West, and returned to Main Street heading West.

Drivers are advised to pay attention to traffic control changes and signs posted.
