Lane County Farmers Market Adjusts To Coronavirus Restrictions

Lane County Farmers Market

The Lane County Farmers Market officially began their regular season last week under statewide Coronavirus restrictions. The market is considered an essential service and is open for business, but with a few changes.

Vendors are spread across two Park Blocks in downtown Eugene to accommodate physical distancing guidelines. There are no samples being handed out and most produce is pre-bagged.

Operations manager Tawnia Platt-Ross says roughly a third of vendors opted to stay home this year.

“It’s a different kind of market. It’s not a social market. It’s to come in, shop and get out kind of market. Just to get business done.”

9-11 am is designated for high risk shoppers. For those not wanting to venture out or unable to find their favorite vendor, a list of CSA subscriptions and delivery options can be found on Lane County Farmers Market website.
