On Tuesday, Lane County voters approved a Lane Community College bond measure. Now, the funds will be used to repair buildings and expand their programs.

The almost $122 million project was approved with 57% of the vote. LCC board member Rosie Pryor said the college is grateful for the community’s support.

“I think we take it all with great humility," said Pryor. "We have a lot of work to do, and if the voters are prepared to trust us with additional resources, we’re going to put them to the very best use possible. And we have the next 15 years to do that. ”

Combined with the 2008 bond, property taxes are estimated to increase to 34 cents per $1,000 of assessed value for all LCC bond debt. LCC President Margaret Hamilton said the college hopes to have access to the funds by November. Elizabeth Gabriel, KLCC News.
