Oregon State University President Ed Ray announced Friday that he’ll step down from his post in June 2020. Ray is currently the state’s longest serving University president.
Ray says he’s in good health and feels the time is right to step down when his current contract ends on June 30th 2020. He has been OSU president since 2003. Steve Clark is OSU Vice President for University Relations.
“Ed Ray has brought an energy and a strategic purpose to this University, not only in Corvallis, but in Bend, where in 2016, we opened up OSU Cascades new campus.”
OSU recently celebrated its 150th anniversary. It also completed a more than 1 billion dollar capital fund-raising campaign. OSU is the state’s largest public university with more than 32 thousand students. Clark says a process and timeline for selecting the next OSU president will be announced soon.
