Junction City celebrated its Nordic heritage with the 61st annual Scandinavian Festival August 11-14, 2022. Generations of attendees have known William Walther as the “puppet guy” at the festival. The 77 year-old is retiring this year, after 40 years of puppetry and storytelling.

There were Tribble races, Klingon spoken and memorabilia for sale as fans gathered at Irving Grange for "Trekkin' In Eugene." But the main event was a live performance of the Star Trek episode, "Trouble with Tribbles."

The Oregon Cultural Trust unveiled a full-scale mural of a new license plate that celebrates the state's diversity at the Eugene Airport Thursday. The mural is one of four going on display in airports across the state.
