ApolloMD, the Georgia-based company recently hired by PeaceHealth to staff its Lane County hospital emergency departments, has responded to a request for information from Oregon lawmakers. But, according to the Oregon House Majority Leader, the company’s responses have raised more questions than answers.

State lawmakers want information from ApolloMD, the Georgia-based entity chosen by PeaceHealth to replace a local physician’s group in their emergency departments. Three legislators have requested information in writing about compliance with Oregon Law.

An unknown number of Oregon Medical Group patients have been unexpectedly turned away over the last few months. Most were told their primary care provider had left. Many blame the loss of their doctor on the clinic’s out of state owners, and healthcare consolidation.

Democrats elected the chamber’s second-youngest member, and a freshman lawmaker with a reputation for sharp political instincts, to help guide their political races and policy aims.
