Willamette High School teacher Nate Jackson was greeted by cheers and fanfare Tuesday during a surprise celebration to announce his selection as Oregon’s Teacher of The Year. Jackson teaches American and Black studies in the Bethel School District.

Willamette High School in northwest Eugene held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Career and Technical Education Center Thursday.

Bethel had an 82.4% grad rate for the class of 2021, above the state rate of 80.6%
