Earthquake Early Warning System

An earthquake preparedness program drew nearly 200 people to South Eugene High School last night. As KLCC’s Brian Bull reports, the essentials of surviving a Cascadian event was the focus.


The House of Representatives has approved a bill (Wednesday) that would create an earthquake earthquake early warning system off the west coast.

The Federal government has allocated $3.7 million for an earthquake early warning system for the west coast. The U-S Geological Survey awarded additional grant money to the University of Oregon.
