A fundraiser for the Eugene Mission drew more than 13,000 people, Saturday, according to Executive Director Jack Tripp. The Eugene Food Truck Fest featured a tasting competition, live music, and family activities. 28 food trucks were parked at the Valley River Center, with 10 percent of each truck's proceeds going to support the Eugene Mission.
Last week, an accidental fire at the Mission caused more than $200,000 in damage, mainly to the kitchen. Tripp dubbed the Food Truck Fest a success, and plans to hold the event again next year.
