The day after the Civil War ended in 1865, Passover began. The play The Whipping Man explores the parallels between the freeing of slaves in America, and the liberation of the Israelites in Egypt.

Stanley Coleman stars as former slave Simon in Very Little Theatre’s production, while Nancy Boyett directs. They speak with KLCC’s Eric Alan about the parallels and their relevance to modern issues. The play opens January 19th, and runs through February 3rd
