The man who carried out the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Connecticut apparently called Eugene radio station KWVA a year before the shooting to discuss the 2009 mauling of a Connecticut woman by a chimpanzee.
The caller, believed to be Adam Lanza, used the name Greg when he was on the air with John Zerzan, host of Anarchy Radio. The caller blames civilization for the chimp's attack.
"Greg" (Adam Lanza) "And dismissing his attack as simply being the senseless violence and [inaudible] of a chimp instead of a human is wishful thinking, at best. His attack could be seen entirely parallel to the attacks, random acts of violence that you bring up on your show every week, committed by humans, which the mainstream also has no explanation for.
Zerzan: "No."
Lanza: "And if he was a actual human, I just don't think it would be such a stretch to say that he very well could have been a teenage mall shooter or something like that."
This would be the first known public recording of Lanza's voice. A former classmate, Kyle Kromberg, told the New York Daily News that he recognized the voice as Lanza's. He killed 20 children and 6 adults on December 14th, 2012. He also killed his mother.
A person with the username "Smiggles" describes making the call to KWVA in a web posting. State police documents refer to instant messages from "Smiggles" as presumably being from Adam Lanza.
