There are several wildfires burning around Oregon.
The largest one – the Indian Creek Fire – is in the eastern part of the state, burning southeast of the Malheur National Forest. It’s currently at 48,128 acres and is 65% contained.
The P-515 and Lionshead fires are burning on the Warm Springs Reservation. Combined, these fires are over 8,900 acres. The P-515 is 70% contained and Lionshead is 15% contained.
The Laurel Fire is just under 1,300 acres and is 60% contained, burning in Wheeler County.
The Green Ridge Fire is at 4,338 acres, burning on the Deschutes National Forest and private land, about 12 miles north of Sisters. It’s 30% contained. There are closures in place for the Deschutes National Forest.
The Frog Fire on the Ochoco National Forest is just over 4,000 acres and is 80% contained.
And, the White River Fire on the Mt. Hood National Forest is 2,775 acres and at 10% containment. The Wasco County Sheriff's Office issued an update Thursday night – that the fire is now causing level 1, 2 and 3 evacuation notices.
Level 3, GO: The Area east from Bear Springs Ranger Station along Hwy 216 through Pine Grove to the intersection of Endersby Rd and 216, also included are all of Endersby Rd, Linns Mill Rd and Kelly Springs Rd have to now been placed on Level 3 GO Evacuation Notice. All Residents are URGED TO EVACUATE NOW, ALL DISPLACED Residents GO TO Maupin High School. EVACUATE NOW.
The Wasco County Sheriff has issued a Level 2 "Be Set" evacuation notice for Pine Grove, the Smock Road area, and Hwy 216 between the 216/26 intersection and and Hwy 216 mile marker 14.
The Wasco County sheriff has extended a Level 1 "Be Ready" evacuation alert to several areas.
- The area east from Bear Springs Ranger Station along Hwy 216 through Pine Grove to the intersection of Endersby Rd and 216, also included are all of Endersby Rd, Linns Mill Rd and Kelly Springs Rd.
- All residences on Smock Road west of the intersection of Smock Road and Ayres Road to include all residences on Barber Lane and Farlow Road.
- The "Be Ready" notice will remain in place for Sportsman’s Park.
