The Eugene Saturday Market opens this weekend on April 3. With its return comes a few changes.
One of the most noticeable differences will be the absence of the Lane County Farmers Market. The market will temporarily relocate to 5th Avenue between High Street and Oak Street while the city works begins its town square project in May.
Saturday Market Marketing Director Vanessa Roy said their hours of operation have changed as well. They will open from 10 a.m. to 4p.m. this year instead of closing at 5 p.m..
They will also continue observing COVID-19 precautions. Masks and social distancing are still required, and booths will have hand sanitizer available.
“We're going to start with our 50% capacity and pretty much as the vaccinations come into our county we're going to keep assessing our situation and hope that we can bring bring in some more of our previous years Saturday Market environment," Roy said.
Roy said she's hopeful they can bring back live music once it's safe to do so. She adds she's thankful for community support and that shopping local is more important than ever.
