Oregon State University says a cybercriminal was able to access a server that’s part of the school’s online education program.
The university says the server contained email addresses, phone numbers and mailing addresses of some students and faculty. But OSU says no social security numbers were compromised in the incident. The school is reaching out to those affected and will offer free credit monitoring services.
OSU says the affected server is back in use with measures in place "to remediate the vulnerability." Students and faculty who want more information can call 541-713-0400.
