U of O Accepts Campus-Wide Vax Challenge From White House

University of Oregon

As part of the push to get all faculty, staff and students vaccinated before fall term starts, the University of Oregon has joined the White House COVID-19 Campus Challenge.

The U of O is one of 13 universities in the state and 800 across the country committed to taking three key actions to help get their campus communities vaccinated: engage students and staff, organize through social media and deliver vaccine access.

Deb Beck is Assistant V.P For Student Services and Enrollment Management and Executive Director of University Health Services.  She explains what could result from the White House COVID-19 Campus Challenge.

“There are so many physical and mental health advantages in having a highly vaccinated campus population. Along with providing academic and social advantages for our students,” Beck said.

Everyone on campus is asked to upload their vaccination status on the Health Services site and share the hashtags #WeCanDoThis and #COVIDCollegeChallenge. All who do will be entered weekly to win Duck bucks.

The deadline to receive a final shot or request an exception before fall term is Monday, Sept. 13.

Tiffany joined the KLCC News team in 2007. She studied journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia and worked in a variety of media including television, technical writing, photography and daily print news before moving to the Pacific Northwest.
