The deadline to participate in a survey for Lane County’s Climate Action Plan has been extended to Sunday night, due to wildfires last month. The questionnaire focuses on how both the county and the community can address climate change.
Climate Strategist Mark Nystrom says close to 550 people have given feedback so far, with some showing interest in recent disasters .
“It’s really fascinating as time has gone on more people have voiced opinions about how you know the agricultural, forestry and fisheries sectors are being impacted," he said. "And I would guess this is a direct reflection on just the tremendous impact of the Holiday [Farm] Fire.”
Nystrom says they’ve gathered input from a diverse demographic. He adds findings will help inform how information will be relayed next year given COVID-19 precautions. The survey can be found online on Lane County’s website.
