As Cathryn Jakobson Ramin crossed the frontiers of middle-age, she became increasingly concerned about herself. As a journalist, a quick memory is critical, and she found her once-sharp recollection of dates, times and facts slipping away. She worried about losing her profession, and losing her identity.

Ramin decided to find out what was going on. So, she made herself a guinea pig, and subjected herself to all kinds of tests and clinical trials. In her book, Carved In Sand, she writes about how she made her comeback.

Guests:

Cathryn Jakobson Ramin, author

Dr. Edward Hallowell, psychiatrist with The Hallowell Center; author of Crazy Busy: Overstretched, Overbooked, and About to Snap! Strategies for Handling Your Fast-Paced Life
