With 10 days until the 2020 election, 31% of Oregon’s registered voters had already returned their ballots. 915,477 ballots had been returned as of the last numbers released on Friday, Oct. 23. This compares to a 17% return rate 10 days before the 2016 election.
This year's returns include 34% of registered voters in Lane County, 41% in Benton County, 27% in Deschutes County, 29% in Douglas County, 30% in Linn County, and 39% in Lincoln County.
If you plan to mail your ballot, elections officials urge you to do that by Tuesday, Oct. 27 to allow time for it to be received at your county elections office by Nov. 3. Postmarks do not count- the ballot must arrive at the elections office by election day. Ballots can be hand-delivered to official drop boxes up until 8 p.m. on Nov. 3.
