Bethel School District to Hold Virtual Sessions on Reopening This Fall

The Bethel School District in Eugene will hold virtual meetings with community members about reopening for the upcoming school year. The district will host three online sessions in English and two in Spanish.

Parents will be able to listen to a presentation and ask questions about the school district’s plan to have a hybrid learning model. This will include both in-person and online instruction days.

Bethel curriculum director Kee Zublin said the presentation will also discuss guidance from the Department of Education and the Oregon Health Authority.

“Also about our provisions for students and families who are unable to return to school at all—even on a limited basis because they're medically fragile, or for other reasons," said Zublin. "So we are required, just like every other district in the state, to also provide a comprehensive distance learning option for those families. So we'll be talking during our presentations a little bit about those as well.”

The virtual discussion sessions will take place Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Links to the zoom meetings can also be found online on the Bethel School District website.
