Enrollment is up this fall at Oregon State University, but the number of students at its main campus in Corvallis is down.
Perhaps an apples-to-apples comparison isn’t fair during a pandemic that’s turned traditional educational models upside down. But the number of students enrolled at OSU’s Corvallis campus is down by nearly a thousand from last fall.
The university says that’s offset by a dramatic increase in the number of students enrolled in the school’s online Ecampus program. That, plus an increase in the number of students at the OSU-Cascades campus in Bend has pushed overall OSU enrollment up by nearly two percent from last year, which sets a new record.
The most popular discipline at OSU continues to be engineering, with nearly 30 percent of all graduate and undergraduate students seeking engineering degrees.
