Last fall, KLCC reported on problems many rural residents in west Eugene were having with delayed mail delivery. At the time, the U.S. Postal Service cited lack of adequate staffing. Now, they’re looking to hire two positions to support rural operations.

A couple dozen postal workers gathered in front of Eugene’s Main Post Office on Tuesday, to rally against threats to privatize the U.S. Postal Service.

Last month, we reported that some rural route residents west of Eugene weren’t getting their mail delivered, sometimes for over a week. KLCC’s Tiffany Eckert wanted to know if the problem persisted, so she mailed a package across town.
