The transit systems for Albany and Salem are exploring the possibility of joining forces to link the two cities by bus.
The agencies are holding an online meeting Thursday afternoon to get public input. Registration is available at this link.
The cities are about 20 miles apart and are connected by a handful of intercity buses and Amtrak passenger trains each day, but no local transit service exists. The existing service makes no stops in communities along the way, and tickets need to be purchased in advance.
