Lane County is moving forward with the sale of a foreclosed mill property in Dexter. The Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday to sell the old Dexter Mill to Tom Wright of Wright Lumber.
Crews have cleaned up the broken-down cars, trash and tires left behind at the site. Devon Ashbridge with Lane County says Wright plans to move his business from Springfield to the Dexter Mill site and possibly expand.
“And so, it’s a way to hopefully improve the situation for the neighbors in Dexter. As well as help provide an opportunity for a local business.”
The county took ownership of Dexter Mill in 2017 after the foreclosure. The estimated sale price is $500,000.
