Be a QPR Gatekeeper - Learn How to Help Someone in Crisis
You're invited to attend our next Community Health Chat on Tuesday, January 21st, where we'll be discussing QPR Gatekeeper Training.
This interactive session, led by Doug Gouge, MFT, will equip you with the skills to recognize the warning signs of suicide and effectively intervene to help someone in crisis.
What is QPR?
QPR stands for Question, Persuade, Refer. It's an evidence-based program that equips you with the skills to recognize the warning signs of suicide, intervene with confidence, and connect someone in crisis with the help they need.
Why is QPR Important?
Just like CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver, QPR can save lives. This program is perfect for anyone who wants to be prepared to help a friend, family member, or neighbor struggling with suicidal thoughts.
Who should attend?
This free chat is open to everyone in the Lonerock community. Whether you're a parent, teacher, student, or concerned citizen, QPR can equip you with the tools to make a difference.
What will you learn?
The QPR method: Question, Persuade, Refer - a proven framework for suicide prevention.
How to identify the common causes and warning signs of suicidal behavior.
Strategies for providing support and getting help for someone in crisis.
Resources available for suicide prevention and mental health support.
Doug Gouge, with over 20 years of experience in mental health and suicide prevention, will guide you through this essential training.
This session is perfect for anyone who wants to make a difference in their community and be prepared to help someone in crisis.
