Tonight, Trio MOV (Morgenroth - Orsinger - Veach) offers another installment in its ongoing exploration of the great jazz piano trio tradition with a deep dive into the music of Bill Evans. Known for his unique pianism and groundbreaking trio concepts, Evans was also a prolific composer and an insightful arranger. This evening’s repertoire will feature many of Evans’ compositions as well as his distinctive versions of standard tunes, such as Irving Berlin’s “How Deep Is the Ocean,” Jerome Kern’s “Up with the Lark,” Richard Rodgers’ “Spring Is Here,” and Henry Mancini’s “The Days of Wine and Roses.”
