Eugene First Friday ArtWalk August Highlight

Eugene First Friday ArtWalk August Highlight
Explore Downtown Eugene’s vibrant arts scene during the August 1st First Friday ArtWalk. Stop by the Farmers Market Pavilion (85 E 8th Ave) from 5:30pm-8:00pm, where you can pick up your ArtWalk Guide before exploring the many galleries and arts venues of downtown Eugene. The monthly First Friday ArtWalk is presented by Lane Arts Council and is always free.
Farmers Market Pavilion Highlight: Oregon DesiFest
Celebrate the rich tapestry of the South Asian diaspora’s cultural contributions through dance, music, film, and visual storytelling with Oregon DesiFest! Exhibitions and showcases include: the installation “Echoes of the Diaspora: Threads of Memory and Movement;” dance demonstrations featuring Odissi, Bharatnatyam, Kathak, and Bollywood Hip Hop; live tabla and sitar performances; and sacred geometry of Tamil kōlam and Tibetan-and Nepal-inspired mandalas. The evening culminates with Paramita, a powerful short film by Kirthi Nath that beautifully intertwines spiritual and cultural reflections.
