SpringFilm: The Truman Show

SpringFilm: The Truman Show
Join the Springfield Public Library for a free showing of the 1998 Cult Classic Dramedy The Truman Show at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 18th at the Wildish Community Theater in downtown Springfield.
Jim Carrey stars as Truman Burbank, an everyman insurance salesman living your typical American Suburban Life. But that all changes when Truman begins to notice that his world is not all that it seems. What he once thought was the small town of Seahaven, is actually a vast Hollywood tv set, with everyone he knows secretly being actors, and the world watching his every move. Ed Harris and Laura Linney costar in this funny and surprisingly prescient dark comedy. This film is rated PG for Thematic Elements and Mild Language.
SpringFilm continues at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 16th, 2024, with a free showing of the Spanish Language Film Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.
SpringFilm is made possible by a partnership between the Springfield Public Library, the Springfield Public Library Foundation, Willamalane Parks and Recreation District, and the Wildish Community Theater, and is generously sponsored by Plank Town Brewing Company.
