The Eugene Police Patrol and Metro Explosives Disposal unit will be responding to firework calls for service this new years holiday weekend.

A temporary ban on fireworks has been issued for the South Hills area from 18th Avenue and east of Agate. The decision, effective through 2022, was made by Eugene City Councilors in response to drought conditions.

Legal consumer fireworks are restricted to July 3-4 and Dec.1-Jan. 1 within city limits. Commercial public displays with the Eugene city limits are restricted to July 3-5
