Lane County Public Health expects to receive 1,700 doses of COVID-19 vaccine by Wednesday, earmarked for educators. This is in-line with Governor Kate Brown’s decision to prioritize pre-school and K-12 teachers in Phase 1B of the state's vaccination plan.
Public Health officials say educators will be contacted by their school district to learn where and when to get a shot. Spokesperson Jason Davis said there is a lot to coordinate.
“Within the education community we obviously have our traditional public schools, we also have charter schools, private schools and early learning,” said Davis. “Those folks are not being left out. There are doses that are set aside for them.”
Davis said some schools with nurses and health centers will serve as vaccination sites. He suggested questions be directed to Lane Education Service District.
