Lane County Public Health reports having a “slow down” with scheduling for the COVID-19 vax clinic at Lane Community College this weekend. The clinic will administer Pfizer doses and is directed toward 16 and 17 year olds who just became eligible for the shot.
Spokesperson Jason Davis said between the clinic at LCC and another in Florence, Public Health looks to vaccinate 3,000 older teens.
“That represents around half of our overall 16 to 17 year old population,” he said. “If you look at the case numbers, that age group does represent a significant portion of our cases and through this vaccination we can certainly slow that trend down.”
Davis said they will not turn anyone away. To schedule a vaccine for you or your teen, visit lanecounty.org/vaxclinics
