DeFazio To Question Boeing CEO In House Investigation

http://defazio.house.gov/

For the first time since the Boeing 737 max crashes, Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg will appear before a house committee investigating the matter.

Committee Chair Peter DeFazio says there are a lot of questions to be answered.

“How did Boeing build a commercial airliner that tied a safety critical system to a single point of failure? That’s not done. That’s just not ever done.”

Defazio says he wants to know why the FAA went along with Boeing’s decisions and if the company withheld information from aviation officials.

The hearing comes on the heels of a report released by Indonesia’s National Transportation Safety Committee as to the cause of the Lion Air Crash. 346 people have died in two separate Boeing 737 max crashes and it’s been almost a year since the crash in Indonesia.
