Oregon U.S. Representative Peter DeFazio received the Wayne Morse Historical Park Corporation Integrity in Politics Award Wednesday.
DeFazio is the 10th person to receive the honor.
Former recipients include Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley, President Jimmy Carter, and California Supreme Court Justice Rose Bird.
The Wayne Morse Integrity in Politics Award is described as in response to recurring challenges in our nation’s civic life and honors the pledge of intellectual independence Senator Morse made to his constituents.
