No.21 Oregon suffered their second consecutive loss, going down 21-17 to Cal on the road Saturday. It was the first victory of the year for Cal (1-3), and moved Oregon to 3-2 on the conference-only season.
The Ducks were up 17-14 at the half, but were scoreless in the second half. They had a chance to take the lead with 2:01 left in the game when the Ducks got the ball and marched down the field, but a late turnover sealed the game for the Golden Bears.
Oregon quarterback Tyler Shough threw for 231 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 53 yards on 12 carries. Noah Sewell led the team with eight tackles. Running back Travis Dye ran for 71 yards on 12 carries, while catching two passes for 85 yards.
