Oregon State came up short in their LA Bowl appearance Saturday, falling 24-13 to Utah State.
The Beavers came out strong, with Jesiah Irish scoring after only three plays on their opening drive. But strong second and third quarters by the Aggies (11-3) were too much for OSU, and the Beavers were held to only two field goals after that opening burst.
Qaurterback Chance Nolan went 21 for 30 with 263 yards. B.J. Baylor led the Beavers with 18 carries for 78 yards. Both Kitan Oledapo and Akili Arnold snagged interceptions for the Beavers.
The LA Bowl was the Beavers’ first bowl appearance since 2013 when they defeated Boise State in the Hawai’i Bowl.
The Beavers ended the 2021 season 7-6, a marked improvement from the 2-5 record from 2020.
