Starting May 15, Alaska Airlines will fly twice daily from Eugene to Portland, a city located at the opposite end of the Willamette Valley from Eugene.

Alaska Airlines said Wednesday it will cancel all flights scheduled on the 737-9 Max jets through Saturday amid investigations into the aircraft’s safety.

The piece of the plane’s fuselage landed in Bob Sauer’s yard, not far from his house. “So I’m really glad it landed where it did.”
