Organizers say the Oregon Country Fair had its largest crowds in decades this weekend in Veneta. The 3-day festival drew more than 58,474 people.
The fair celebrated its 50th anniversary this year and that may have been part of the draw.
Wally Bomgaars is the new Executive Director of the fair. He told KLCC he’d like to start thinking about the next 50 years.
“Ultimately, it’s a balance of the history and the heart of what’s going on here and also bringing that into the future. Bringing in new generations, bringing in more diversity, bringing in, just all kinds of things.”
Saturday had the biggest crowd. There were 21,620 tickets sold that day. Friday had just over 20,047 and Sunday’s attendance was 16,807 people.
