Photography at Oregon’s 48th Annual Exhibit and Auction opens this Friday!

We’ve already received an impressive collection of print donations from noted photographers locally and nationally. So far, contributions include prints from artists such as Christopher Burkett, Brian Lanker and Rebecca Zeiss, as well as outstanding works from many exceptional local and regional artists.
As in years past, there will be three Auction Exhibits featuring prints from the Online Auction at Dot Dotson's Gallery in Eugene, one each in April, May and June. The online auction goes live on May 1st, but you can get an in-person preview during our first live exhibit in April. After that, you can view a select number of photographs at Dot Dotson's each month and, starting May 1st, view bid on the entire selection of over 100 photographs online here.

There will be an Opening Reception from 5-6 p.m., complete with wine and hors d’oeuvres. We hope to see you there.
The exhibit will run all of April, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. till 1:00 p.m.
Following that, new works will be displayed each month through the end of the auction period, so watch for the exhibit changes at the beginning of May and June so you can see these remarkable prints in person. These will be First-Friday opening receptions from 5-6 p.m. for each of the exhibits.
The Online Auction itself will be open for bids starting May 1st and continuing through June 30th. The entire selection of photographs will be online, so, starting May 1st, visit PAO2026.auctria.events to view and bid!

Our intrepid Moombahteers embark on a watery excursion to continents and archipelagos in the seven seas in search of pirates and mermaids and wonderful sea critters and beautiful beaches! And, as always, everything is worth singing about! SPECIAL THURSDAY & FRIDAY SCHOOL PROGRAMS. On both the Thursday and Friday before each Saturday Moombah, at 10:15 am, The Shedd presents a special performance of the Moombah designed especially for area school and home school groups. Chinuk Wawa is an Indigenous language of our region which is being revitalized as the community language of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and the Chinook Indian Nation. Since 2006, it is also offered as a college class via Lane Community College. The college language program has played many roles, helping tribal language workers to build their proficiency, helping Indigenous students connect to their ancestral language, providing a starting point for further study of other Indigenous languages, and introducing non-Indigenous students to elements of the language, cultures, and issues of Native people in our region.

This lecture happens at the Corvallis Museum.
About the presenters:

Beth Sheppard has been a language teacher for over 20 years. She currently teaches at Lane Community College and the University of Oregon.
Diane Smith is a Native American of Molalla,  Wasco, Chinook, Klamath and metis heritage and a member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, and has been teaching Chinuk Wawa at LCC since 2023

New Zone Events –April 2026

In addition to the eclectic mix of contemporary and traditional art created by the New Zone members shown at the New Zone Gallery, located in our beautiful space at 110 East 11th, we will be hosting two Featured Artists special exhibits during the month of April.

The 'you' is all the things with which we coexist - like those peonies in the Shanghai Botanical Garden. Every thing carries a story.

We will have 50 different categories of books to choose from, including a large selection of children's books. This is a three-day sale, with prices lower each day.

Friday prices will be $3-4 for adult books and $1-2 for children's books. Saturday prices will be lower, and on Sunday, no book will be more than $1, and $10 for a bag or box.

Payment may be made by cash, check, credit card (3% fee per transaction), Apple Pay, or Venmo. Located at the Benton County Fairgrounds, Solar Building. Enter from Reservoir Rd. Free parking next to the building. Proceeds go to fund programs at all library branches: Alsea, Corvallis, Monroe, and Philomath.

The Oregon Coast Film Festival is back for 2026! Organized and presented by the Egyptian Theatre in Coos Bay, our focus is on Oregon-made films.
