The April 13th standoff alarmed South Hills residents, who were witness to an hours-long negotiation attempt, flash bang devices, a robot, and Gardner firing shots at police with a semi-automatic rifle.

Two SWAT officers shot Gardner when he emerged from his mother’s townhouse, and reportedly raised his weapon. He was treated for his wounds and taken to Riverbend Hospital.  At last check he was recovering and mobile.

On Monday, Gardner was arraigned by a Lane County Circuit Court judge in his hospital room.
