College Football Starts Saturday With New Protocols For Fans

Oregon Football Facebook

College football season starts in earnest this Saturday. For people attending home games in Eugene or Corvallis this year, the experience will be different fom what they’re used to.

Football fans will file into Autzen Stadium on Saturday for the first time since November 2019 as the Ducks take on Fresno State. The Beavers open their season on the road at Purdue, and will play their first home game on September 11 against Hawaii.

Both OSUand the University of Oregon will require everyone 12 and older to either show proof of vaccination, or a negative COVID test from within three days prior to kickoff. Both schools say to arrive early, as the verification procedures will add time to the entry process.

All fans aged five and above will be required to wear face masks except when eating or drinking. The U of O also says concessions will be limited due to supply chain and staffing issues.
