Hundreds of artists are coming to Eugene to take part in Visual Arts Week, kicking off this Friday.
The second-annual celebration is a collaboration between the City of Eugene, Lane Arts Council, and Maude Kerns Art Center.
Kate Ali, public art manager, says there are not a lot of opportunities for visual artists to get together to celebrate their work.
“I am going to be in as many places as possible, really trying to absorb and be exposed to some of the projects that I’m not even that aware of,” says Ali. “So just the ability to go out and experience what other people are doing and to be able to just visit and meet new artists in our community.”
Visual Arts Week events will include workshops, artist talks, tours, and shows.
