Yachats Rural Fire Protection District

Three fire protection services in Lincoln County have measures on the May 19 ballot. The Yachats Rural Fire Protection District and the North Lincoln Fire and Rescue District seek to renew five-year levies, and the Seal Rock Rural Fire Protection District proposes to increase its levy.

The mother of a 25-year-old Waldport woman killed in a collision with a Yachats ambulance in January has filed a $6 million lawsuit against the Yachats Rural Fire Protection District and the private, nonprofit ambulance company that it staffs.

In next month’s election, voters in Yachats are being asked to renew an existing levy that funds their firefighters.
