On the first day back from spring break for Oregon students, Gov. Kate Brown hosted a Facebook Live event to mark the week she directed schools to open their doors for in-person instruction for elementary students.

“It’s truly a moment worth celebrating,” Brown said. “I know students, parents, educators, all of us, have been looking forward to this for months.”

Oregon Governor Kate Brown held a press availability Friday, March 12, at 11 a.m. to discuss Oregon's ongoing response to COVID-19. She was joined by representatives from the Oregon Health Authority and Oregon Health & Science University.

It’s been almost a year since Gov. Kate Brown ordered schools to close because of COVID-19. Now, she’s ordering them to open back up again.

It’s been a week since Oregon Gov. Kate Brown lowered Lane County’s coronavirus risk level from extreme to high, putting indoor dining back on the table. Owners in Springfield and Eugene say although capacity is limited, they’re seeing a sharp increase in business.
