While Lane County Public Health's COVID-19 vaccine allocations remain somewhat stagnant, officials say there are other options for getting the shot, including your local pharmacy.
Last week, Lane County Public Health received about 13,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. The agency was notified by Oregon Health Authority that weekly allocations will not be increasing any time soon.
15-million doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccine were recently destroyed due to a manufacturing error at a Baltimore, MD facility. The J & J shipments to the county have been delayed.
With more people now eligible to get the shot, spokesperson Jason Davis encouraged checking into the Federal Pharmacy Program.
“Our federal pharmacy partners received around 7,000 doses (this week) which is significant because it increases the number of doses in Lane County,” he said, “and it also gives people significant options when it comes to where they get their vaccine.”
Davis said pharmacy partners in the area have reported plenty of slots open to schedule a shot. To find a provider in your area, go to vaccinefinder.org
