On March 27th, a fire broke out at All Seasons Equipment in West Eugene. While no structures were affected, a shipping container and 45 riding mowers in crates were damaged.

Video footage shows a man with graying beard in dark clothes, blue cap, and sneakers on the premises.

“He was cutting battery cables in the lot,” says All Seasons owner Jon Cowley. “He was also stealing small things.  Our neighbor next to us has a landscape company and he stole a reel of copper wire from them.  And he stole some small tools from us, miscellaneous items.”

Cowley says thankfully, his insurance will cover most, if not all the damage.

“I feel for anybody that has to go through this kind of thing, it’s a small family-owned business and this has caused heartache for the employees and myself. Hopefully we can cut down on these kinds of acts happening to businesses in our area.”

Cowley is grateful to the Eugene-Springfield Fire Department and the Eugene Police, for putting out the blaze and investigating the incident.

People with tips on the man and the fire can call the Eugene Police Department. They say to please contact Detective Chris White at (541)682-5376, or by email at cwhite@eugene-or.gov
