A levy to preserve Springfield’s park system is now officially headed toward the ballot. On Wednesday, the Willamalane Park Board unanimously voted to send a five-year levy to the May 19 ballot.

Voters will have a chance to weigh in this May on increasing their support for the Eugene Public Library.

This May, voters will be asked to increase the levy that supports Oregon State University’s Lane County Extension services.

The 2010 Republican nominee for governor announced his 2026 campaign on Monday.

State Rep. Boomer Wright, a Republican from Reedsport who has represented Oregon’s southern coast since 2020, will not run for a fourth term.

Eugene’s City Council voted Wednesday to send two Charter amendments to the ballot next May.

The race to represent Springfield on the Lane County Board of Commissioners is officially contested. On Monday, Springfield Mayor Sean VanGordon declared his candidacy and incumbent David Loveall announced he was seeking a second term.

Springfield Mayor Sean VanGordon may be running for a Lane County Commissioner seat next year. He filed fundraising paperwork on Oct. 31.

Republican state Rep. Jami Cate, a farmer from Linn County, announced Wednesday that she plans to run for the Oregon Senate.
