Springfield Lane County Commission incumbent David Loveall conceded his race to challenger Sean VanGordon over the weekend.

Two challengers in the races to represent Springfield and East Lane County on the Board of Commissioners remained ahead in the latest set of results released Thursday.

Two incumbents seeking reelection to the Lane Board of County Commissioners were trailing election night, according to preliminary results. In Springfield, challenger Sean VanGordon was ahead of incumbent David Loveall, and in East Lane County, Jake Pelroy was ahead of incumbent Heather Buch.

Incumbent David Loveall and Springfield Mayor Sean VanGordon are vying to represent Lane County Commissioner District 2 in next month’s election. The district includes Springfield and some surrounding areas.

The race to represent Springfield on the Lane County Board of Commissioners is officially contested. On Monday, Springfield Mayor Sean VanGordon declared his candidacy and incumbent David Loveall announced he was seeking a second term.

Springfield Mayor Sean VanGordon may be running for a Lane County Commissioner seat next year. He filed fundraising paperwork on Oct. 31.
