Event Listings in Oregon

Photography at Oregon’s 47th Annual Exhibit and Auction is nearly upon us! We’ve already received an impressive collection of print donations from noted photographers locally and nationally. So far, contributions include prints from artists such as Christopher Burkett, Christopher Landis, Ken Hawkins and Brian Lanker, as well as outstanding works from many exceptional local and regional artists, such as Michael Z. Taylor, Barbora Bakalarova, Sarah Grew, Walt O’Brien, and Doremus Scudder, just to name a very few.

As in years past, there will be three Auction Exhibits featuring prints from the Online Auction at Dot Dotson's Gallery in Eugene, one each in May, June and July. This year, the online auction and the three exhibits will run concurrently. You can view a select number of photographs at Dot Dotson's each month and view and bid on the entire selection of over 85 photographs online at auctria.events/PAO2025.

The first installment of the PAO Auction Exhibit opens Friday, May 2nd
at Dot Dotson’s Gallery, 1668 Willamette St. Eugene, OR 97401

There will be an Opening Reception from 5-6 p.m., complete with wine and hors d’oeuvres. We hope to see you there.

The exhibit will run all of May, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. till 1:00 p.m.

The Online Auction itself will be open for bids starting May 1st and continuing through July 31st. The entire selection of photographs will be online.

We are looking forward to an active turnout for the 2025 Auction! Remember, that all auction proceeds go toward promoting and sponsoring photography exhibits and events by PAO, as they have for the past 45 years. Our success is directly due to the generosity of many fine photographers donating work, giving back to the medium we all love, as well as the generosity and commitment of our bidders.

Umpqua Valley Arts (UVA) is thrilled to announce the return of the Summer Arts Festival (SAF) — Southern Oregon’s premier celebration of arts and culture — taking place June 27–29 in Roseburg’s scenic Fir Grove Park. Now in its 56th year, this beloved summer tradition draws over 10.000 visitors each year and continues to serve as a vibrant showcase of creativity, community, and connection.

The three-day festival features more than 110 local and regional artists offering handcrafted works in all media, from fine art and jewelry to ceramics and textiles.

Attendees can enjoy live music and entertainment on two stages, family-friendly art experiences in the Youth Zone, and indulge in the best of the Pacific Northwest’s culinary scene with a diverse selection of food vendors and craft beverages.

Children’s author Carrie Tillotson will be reading from her latest book Alpacas Here, Alpacas There and lead songs and movement at the Cottage Grove Public Library, 700 East Gibbs Avenue, on Friday June 27 11:30-12:30.

That evening Carrie will be the Art Walk writer at the Bookmine on Main Street, Cottage Grove 6-8pm This event is sponsored by Cottage Grove Public Library, Friends of Cottage Grove Library, and the Cottage Grove Community Foundation. Carrie will have her books to sell and sign at both events.

Pegasus Playhouse Presents Starkid’s The Trail To Oregon!
Based on the video game The Oregon Trail and originally produced by Team StarKid, The Trail to Oregon! is a comedy musical about a family in the 1800s in Missouri that decide to pack up all their things and trek across the country to find a better life in Oregon. Along the way, they run into problems like... Hunger! Dysentery! The Bandit King! The group must learn how to survive as a family (but spoiler alert: one of them may or may not die).
The show, while wild and funny, does feature adult language, and some adult situations, so parents are encouraged to use discretion before bringing their children.

The cast includes Christopher Ridgley as the Father, Elena Morris as the Mother, Mila Dahl as the Daughter, Levi Stewart as the Son, Spoon Meiners as the Grandpa, and Colin Schmidt as the “Bandit King” McDoon and various townspeople.

The Trail to Oregon ! will be on the Pegasus Playhouse stage for three weekends, June 13-29.
Friday and Saturday showings will begin at 7 p.m. and Sunday showings will begin at 6 p.m.

Pegasus Playhouse is a non-profit theatre company dedicated to “Theatre For Everyone.” Musicals and plays for grown-ups, kids and everyone in between. Located at 402 Main St, Springfield OR.

On April 2, 1800, Beethoven self-produced a benefit “Akademie” concert in Vienna showcasing his talent as both composer and pianist. The program featured his Symphony No. 1 and marked his entry into Vienna’s elite music scene. The evening included works from Beethoven’s predecessors, Mozart, Haydn, and Bach. OBF artistic partner, Jos van Veldhoven, conducts the OBF classical Orchestra and Bewick Academy, side-by-side, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the OBF Berwick Academy for Historically Informed Performance.
