Photography at Oregon’s 47th Annual Exhibit and Auction is nearly upon us! We’ve already received an impressive collection of print donations from noted photographers locally and nationally. So far, contributions include prints from artists such as Christopher Burkett, Christopher Landis, Ken Hawkins and Brian Lanker, as well as outstanding works from many exceptional local and regional artists, such as Michael Z. Taylor, Barbora Bakalarova, Sarah Grew, Walt O’Brien, and Doremus Scudder, just to name a very few.

As in years past, there will be three Auction Exhibits featuring prints from the Online Auction at Dot Dotson's Gallery in Eugene, one each in May, June and July. This year, the online auction and the three exhibits will run concurrently. You can view a select number of photographs at Dot Dotson's each month and view and bid on the entire selection of over 85 photographs online at auctria.events/PAO2025.

The first installment of the PAO Auction Exhibit opens Friday, May 2nd
at Dot Dotson’s Gallery, 1668 Willamette St. Eugene, OR 97401

There will be an Opening Reception from 5-6 p.m., complete with wine and hors d’oeuvres. We hope to see you there.

The exhibit will run all of May, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. till 1:00 p.m.

The Online Auction itself will be open for bids starting May 1st and continuing through July 31st. The entire selection of photographs will be online.

We are looking forward to an active turnout for the 2025 Auction! Remember, that all auction proceeds go toward promoting and sponsoring photography exhibits and events by PAO, as they have for the past 45 years. Our success is directly due to the generosity of many fine photographers donating work, giving back to the medium we all love, as well as the generosity and commitment of our bidders.

At Bring Your Pages, writer (and Wordcrafter) Daryll Lynne Evans will guide you through how to give constructive, helpful, compassionate critique, centering the writer’s voice and intention throughout. You’ll not only receive useful feedback on your own writing, you’ll learn how to give good feedback to others, and how a healthy critique group operates.

What you’ll get from Bring Your Pages
-Supportive, constructive feedback on your work in progress (up to 6,000 words over the course of the group) tailored to you, your style, and voice
-A circle of fellow writers who care about our writing
-Tips and practice giving thoughtful, helpful critique that helps other writers

-Accountability to get your writing done

How it works
Each session, a few writers share their pages in advance. You’ll read their writing before class and come ready to share what you loved, what confused you, and what you want more of. If you’re the writer receiving the feedback, you’ll get your peers helpful written notes on your work. And you’ll learn a ton from giving feedback, too.

The Oregon Sierra Club is sponsoring special screenings of the film The People vs Agent Orange. The film won the 2021 Jury Award at the Eugene Environmental Film Festival. It follows the fight of two women to hold the manufacturers accountable for the Agent Orange catastrophe. A primary chemical of the pesticide is still being used today. A brief panel discussion and Q&A will be held after the screening. The film will be shown on the 11th of June at 7 pm at the Art House in Eugene.
