Highway 242

The road over McKenzie Pass had been closed this summer because of a nearby wildfire. It reopened briefly late last month after the Foley Ridge Fire was under control.

Highway 242, which is also known as the McKenzie Highway, had been closed for weeks due to the Foley Ridge Fire east of McKenzie Bridge.

The Foley Ridge Fire was about 20 acres in size as of Sunday evening, and was not immediately threatening any populated areas.

Oregon Highway 126 east of McKenzie Bridge has reopened to traffic.

Tuesday morning transportation officials announced the closure of Highway 126 between mileposts 13 and 19.5. Highway 242, the Old McKenzie Highway is also closed to all traffic.

The Oregon Department of Transportation is closing Highway 126 near Belknap Hot Springs for 48 hours this week.

Highway 242 over McKenzie Pass will be open to traffic on Thursday morning.
