Accountability works. As does working alongside fellow writers in the sweet quiet of the Wordcrafters studio. No espresso machines screeching, annoying music playing, or folks chatting. Plus, you can get up and go to the bathroom whenever you need to! And you won’t have the distraction of laundry or other procrastination chores.

When you sign up to show up for your writing work, you’re so much more likely to actually do it. These low-key write-ins give you the space, time, and community to make it happen.

About your hosts

Jeaux Bartlett (they/them or xe/xem) is a writer and teacher living in Eugene, Oregon. Jeaux has published several books and online courses focused on personal growth and their work has appeared in the Register Guard, Lane Monthly, Rochester insider, Crossroads Chronicle, and Nature’s Wisdom amongst other publications.

Heather McBride (she/her) is a content strategist at Adobe but has novelist aspirations. She’s been bookish since birth but got serious about her own writing when teaching composition at U of O.

Photography at Oregon’s 47th Annual Exhibit and Auction is nearly upon us! We’ve already received an impressive collection of print donations from noted photographers locally and nationally. So far, contributions include prints from artists such as Christopher Burkett, Christopher Landis, Ken Hawkins and Brian Lanker, as well as outstanding works from many exceptional local and regional artists, such as Michael Z. Taylor, Barbora Bakalarova, Sarah Grew, Walt O’Brien, and Doremus Scudder, just to name a very few.

As in years past, there will be three Auction Exhibits featuring prints from the Online Auction at Dot Dotson's Gallery in Eugene, one each in May, June and July. This year, the online auction and the three exhibits will run concurrently. You can view a select number of photographs at Dot Dotson's each month and view and bid on the entire selection of over 85 photographs online at auctria.events/PAO2025.

The first installment of the PAO Auction Exhibit opens Friday, May 2nd
at Dot Dotson’s Gallery, 1668 Willamette St. Eugene, OR 97401

There will be an Opening Reception from 5-6 p.m., complete with wine and hors d’oeuvres. We hope to see you there.

The exhibit will run all of May, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. till 1:00 p.m.

The Online Auction itself will be open for bids starting May 1st and continuing through July 31st. The entire selection of photographs will be online.

We are looking forward to an active turnout for the 2025 Auction! Remember, that all auction proceeds go toward promoting and sponsoring photography exhibits and events by PAO, as they have for the past 45 years. Our success is directly due to the generosity of many fine photographers donating work, giving back to the medium we all love, as well as the generosity and commitment of our bidders.

This is a social club for LGBTQIA folks and allies of all ages; we meet every week but only talk about one book per month. Some activities are chatting about what books we’re reading, discussing trans artists and issues, reading each other LGBTQIA-friendly picture books, and we’ll even chat about shoes.

On the last Tuesday of the month we discuss our monthly discussion book. Our discussion book is a book about/for/by trans and gender diverse people. Indie filmmaking is hard. Living in Oblivion makes it hilarious.
To mark the 30th anniversary of one of the great underground comedies of the ’90s, CTV is thrilled to screen Living in Oblivion (1995)—a film that every independent filmmaker, dreamer, and DIY auteur will recognize as painfully, absurdly true.

Directed by Tom DiCillo and starring Steve Buscemi in one of his most iconic roles, Living in Oblivion is a behind-the-scenes satire of the chaos, egos, technical failures, and emotional meltdowns that plague a low-budget film shoot. Structured in three surreal, interlocking acts (each one more unhinged than the last), it’s both a love letter to and a roast of the indie film scene—equal parts hilarious and heartbreaking.

In a city like Eugene, where grassroots film groups, student productions, and community art projects are constantly finding new ways to make the most with the least, Living in Oblivion couldn’t be more relevant. It reminds us why we love making art together, even when everything goes wrong—and why we keep going anyway.

Ellis Bullard is a Texas-born, Austin-based country singer-songwriter known for his raw, authentic honky-tonk sound. His music channels a mix of classic honky-tonk, outlaw country, and rock‑tinged swagger.

The Corvallis Outdoor Farmers Markets operate every Saturday and Wednesday until the day before Thanksgiving, with a bonus market on Dec. 6.

Find fruits and vegetables, plants, or cut flowers, gathered and cultivated mushrooms, or are raising meat, poultry, eggs or honey.

What’s in season varies from week to week and is influenced by weather and production methods, including the tall greenhouses called “high tunnels” that some farmers use.

Outdoors on Fountain Plaza

In partnership with Native Youth Wellness Program of Lane ESD, Springfield Public Schools, and Transponder

Enjoy an interactive experience with Shuína Skó, a citizen of the Klamath Tribes, as they share their ancestral language, culture, and spoken word poetry. This performance will entertain and engage all ages through modern storytelling of some traditional cultural knowings. Shuína will explain how poetry and storytelling are tied to both the historical and present-day ways of Indigenous people. The audience will also be invited to participate in a game to learn words from the Klamath language that are woven into the storytelling performance.

Join Food for Lane County at 11:30 a.m., immediately following this event on the Fountain Plaza for a free lunch for kids and teens ages 1 - 18. No strings attached! Available while the supply lasts.
